Laughing is one of life’s greatest pleasures, but it often leads to wrinkles around our mouths. Luckily, a new beauty trend that is totally easy to do can help reduce laugh lines without having to stop smiling.
TikTok user Lisa, who often posts about face yoga, dedicated a recent video to a two-step massage that could help reduce laugh lines. The method is simple enough to do every day to stimulate blood flow where you most need it.
First, remember to apply a lotion or oil to your face so your hands can easily glide along the targeted area.
Then comes the first move, which mimics a wringing motion. Make your hands into a fist-like shape with your thumb underneath your chin. With your fingers bent, press the knuckles of your pointer fingers to the bottom of your laugh line. Squeeze your face and massage upwards and outwards, stretching out the lines. Repeat this motion as you move your hands up your face.
The motion is the same as if you were rubbing your eyes. (If this sounds confusing, watch the TikTok below for a visual guide).
The second step is a bit easier. Using the pads of your pointer and middle fingers, start at the bottom of your chin and move upwards. Once you get to the bottom of your cheeks, right next to your nose, move your fingers in circles.
Both moves only require light to medium pressure. If you feel like it’s hurting too much, use less force. Repeat the two steps 10 to 12 times to start seeing results.
This massage mostly helps stimulate blood flow, which helps smooth out wrinkles. Doing a facial massage can combat the natural process of gravity on your skin as time goes on. Most importantly, it means you can keep on laughing and smiling like you do!
